Sylvia and I married in October of 1957 and still like to visit with our old friends at reunions. We would like to have one in 2007 (our 50th Wedding Anniversary Year) I have posted bios, a photo, etc on Reunion.com but was surprised to see that we had a site of our own. It looks like the Moderator or Webmaster may be Jimmy Goad. Some time ago, I put my name in the search engine Google and it came back with a statement that I (Alton Gloer) had killed Jimmy Goad. I don't know where that could have come from. Sylvia and I along with our last child, Dennis live up in the woods outside of La Fayette GA (about 25 miles south of Chattanooga TN)I was a Disc Jockey for many years playing old music since it was new music from the 1950's for high school reunions, company parties, weddings and other happy events. I enjoyed that life but tried to slow down in 1986 by buying a nightclub where after 3 years of struggle, I had to go bankrupt. I had this silly idea that all of the fans I had around Atlanta would come to the club and support me. Mama (Sylvia) was going to cook and I was going to play the music but we made the mistake of buying an established Restaurant/Nightclub where they expected live "redneck" music from loud bands and didn't want to hear my "oldies." I am still very active in music, although I am not in the business any more. After that we (having had over 30 years experience as Foster Parents) tried going to supervise a Group Home for Mentally Handicapped Persons in Knoxville TN where we stayed a couple of years but it was almost like the nightclub business where you work 36 hours a day so we moved to La Fayette where Sylvia is from and I did a Flea Market business in Knives and Leather Products until I retired at age 62. I will be 67 in a few days (April 11 2006) and shortly thereafter, Sylvia will turn 66 (May 22 2006). She wonders what happened to some of her girlfriends like Jackie Magnum who didn't graduate with us as she had to quit school because she was pregnant. She had been looking for her friend Helen Boggs also but I got her email address off of this website and will try to contact her that way. If anyone knows how to contact Jackie Magnum, Sylvia would like to hear from them or her. We would like to attend a 2007 Reunion if possible (Did I say that already?) I sometimes repeat myself. If I could figure out how to post a picture on here I will do it, but I am having a little bit of a hard time negotiating the website. I AM enjoying it though. I have four computers in this room but only one that works. The last one that I had going good came up with a "You have updates ready to install" and I clicked on "Yes" and it then refused me access to my computer so I don't think I will check "Yes" to any more updates. It was Windows XP Service Park 2. If anyone knows how to get this off my computer, I'd sure like to know about it. It won't let me enter my password so I can't get past the first page (sign in page).
